Upstate business owner confesses to tax evasion

STATE – An Upstate business owner pleaded guilty earlier this month to state tax evasion after he was accused of underreporting millions of dollars in sales.

Yagneshkumar Pravin Patel, 45, of Piedmont, is the owner of a chain of Upstate convenience and liquor stores, according to a SC Department of Revenue release issued June 17.

Patel operated Yadhi Groups, LLC and Yadhi Spirits, LLC, with stories in Pickens,
