Three Dallas Police Department employees terminated for misconduct in disciplinary hearings

HOUSTON, Texas — Three Dallas Police Department employees were terminated following disciplinary hearings on May 29, 2025, with Dallas Police Department Chief Comeaux.

The terminations were due to various offenses, including unlawful food stamp use and driving under the influence.

Research Specialist Patsy Evans, from the Operational Technology Unit, was terminated for unlawful food stamp use exceeding $200, a third-degree felony. Evans had been with the department since September 2012. Supervisor Sheri Brown, from the Records Unit, was also terminated for being arrested for the same offense. Brown had been with the department since April 2004.

Sergeant Matthew Terry, #8915, from the Central Patrol Division, faced termination for being untruthful to a supervisor, driving under the influence of alcohol, and being arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a state jail felony. Terry had been with the department since September 2006, according to the press release.
