No decision yet in high-profile immigration case involving Kilmar Abrego Garcia

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont-based garden supply company has filed for bankruptcy.

WCAX obtained the Chapter 11 bankruptcy paperwork for Gardener’s Supply filed Friday in Delaware.

Sources told WCAX about the bankruptcy filing earlier this week. We’ve reached out to Gardener’s Supply multiple times but were told they have no comment. We also reached out to the Vt. Department of Labor to see if they have been warned of upcoming layoffs. We have not heard back.

Gardener’s Supply has multiple locations in our region:

  • Burlington, Vt.
  • Williston, Vt.
  • Shelburne, Vt.
  • Lebanon, NH
  • Greenland, N.H.
  • Had, not.

It’s unclear what the filing means for the employee-owned company, but sources have expressed concern about what the bankruptcy means for employees’ investments.

The paperwork shows the company’s estimated assets to be between $1,000,001 to $10 million, with $10,000,001 to $50 million worth of liabilities.
