Motion filed to remove judge in murder for hire case

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The defense for the woman accused of trying to hire people to kill her husband wants the judge to leave the case.

Susen Hunter’s charges include first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and obstructing an officer.

According to court documents, her defense has filed a motion requesting that Judge Zwaan recuse herself from the case.

The request stems from the fact that Zwaan presided over a case involving Hunter and her husband in 2021 and wants her not to preside over this trial due to this prior involvement.

Hunter’s preliminary hearing conference is scheduled for July 1.
