Missing person found deceased after fiery crash near Campus Parkway on-ramp

A person who was reported as missing is now deceased after crashing into a fixed object and being engulfed in flames, police say.

Deputies responded to a crash early Saturday morning near the Campus Parkway on-ramp from Highway 140.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a vehicle that had collided with a fixed object and was fully engulfed in flames.

After firefighters extinguished the blaze, a deceased individual was found inside the vehicle.

During the investigation, authorities received additional information indicating that a person associated with the vehicle had recently been reported missing.

Deputies are currently collaborating with investigators to determine the identity of the deceased.

The incident remains under active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
