Man sentenced in Pima County for fentanyl trafficking

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the sentencing of a man for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation.

Baltazar Quintero-Bueno was sentenced to seven years in prison.

He pleaded guilty to charges that included Conspiracy to Sell a Narcotic Drug, Conspiracy to Possess a Narcotic Drug for Sale, Misconduct Involving Weapons, and Illegally Conducting an Enterprise.

The Attorney General’s Office says between May and December 2024, Quintero-Bueno was part of a drug trafficking enterprise that sold fentanyl pills and possessing fentanyl powder.

In December of 2024, he was found with approximately 73 pounds of fentanyl pills and multiple firearms.

“My office will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle drug trafficking organizations that ship fentanyl to our communities,” said Attorney General Mayes. “Those engaged in illicit drug trafficking should be on notice that my office along with our law enforcement partners will find you and bring you to justice.”
