Marquette County Medical Care Facility, which offers short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at its 140-bed facilityin Ishpeming, Michigan, announced a data breach affecting certain personal information. On March 3, 2025, the facility discovered a business email compromise when phishing emails were sent from its HR director’s Microsoft Office 365 account. Following the incident, the company secured the email systems and launched an internal investigation supported by external computer forensic experts to assess the breach’s impact.

According to a June 23, 2025 press release aboutthe Marquette County Medical Care Facility data breach, exposed information includes names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, protected health information, and bank details.
