If you own one of these 3 refrigerators, this is your last chance to get a $300 settlement

If you own a certain Whirlpool, KitchenAid or Maytag refrigerator, you may qualify for a $300 settlement.

But here’s the catch: You only have until June 18 to file your claim.

Here’s what you need to know about this refrigerator class-action lawsuit and how you can file a claim.

What are the details of the refrigerator class-action lawsuit?

Whirlpool agreed to a class-action lawsuit to settle claims that Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag refrigerators have defects that cause frost build-up, impeding the appliance’s ability to keep things cool.

The class-action lawsuit includes all Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag refrigerators sold between 2012 and 2019. Those who qualify for the lawsuit can get up to $300 to go towards repairing and replacing the refrigerators.

The amount someone will get reimbursed may vary due to how long ago the refrigerator was made.

Repairs or replacements 4-6 years from date of manufacture $225 for repairs, 45% of original purchase price for replacements
Repairs or replacements 7-8 years from date of manufacture $150 for repairs, no reimbursement for replacements
