Gee Scott, co-host of “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio, said he wasn’t surprised that King County Assessor John Wilson is facing another restraining order.
“I know the former girlfriend. I know her personally, and that girlfriend has said to me before, ‘Yeah, I don’t know about this guy. He’s a little different. He’s a little weird.’ This is two years ago. So I’m not shocked when I hear this news, and I’m not shocked to hear that other people are calling for his resignation,” he said.
Harrell calls for King County assessor’s resignation
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell urged Wilson to step down Thursday, stating in a news release that he was “appalled by the stories of County Assessor Wilson’s conduct.”
“While he has a right to due legal process, the published allegations are disqualifying for public office,” the statement continued. “We need to send a clear message to survivors of intimate partner abuse that this type of behavior by people in positions of trust is not tolerated.”
Gee pointed out that Wilson announced his candidacy for King County Executive.
“This is the same dude that started to talk about crime. This is the same dude that wanted to get on there, as he gets ready to run for executive,” he said.
Bad behavior has been given a pass
Gee believes politicians should be held to a higher standard, but unfortunately, they have gotten away with bad behavior for years.
“The problem is for so long, it’s been given a pass,” he said.
