The court battle between DDG and Halle Bailey has just escalated further. A judge has officially denied the Michigan rapper a restraining order against Bailey, despite him claiming that she is mentally unstable, stalking him, and attempting to fly with their child without informing him. The news initially broke on The Neighborhood Talkwho got the information from the court papers.

DDG Called Halle Mentally Insane, Tried to Hide an Abortion, and Sent Him Chilling Messages

In the complaint, DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) had accused Bailey of stalking him, sending him creepy text messages, and even secretly obtaining an abortion because she was pregnant with their son. He also claimed that Bailey was not fit to go overseas with the child because of problems with her mental health.

In addition to trying to stop her from traveling, DDG asked the court to grant him sole custody of their baby boy, Halo. If the court would not grant him sole custody, he wanted at least the presence of a third party in custody exchanges.

But the judge was not moved by the appeal. The restraining order was refused and Bailey is still the main guardian of their child.

Halle Bailey Still Protected by Her Temporary Restraining Order Against DDG

All this follows the temporary restraining order that Bailey obtained against DDG last May 13. In her plea, she charged him with physical abuse during an argument over visitation, along with other claimed acts of controlling and threatening acts.

Sources close to Bailey indicate that the tensions had been building behind the scenes for some time and now that both of them are embroiled in mutual accusations, the public divide has become a full-blown war in the courts.

The Judge’s Decision Is a Crushing Blow to DDG’s Custody Plans

It’s unclear exactly why the judge denied DDG’s request, but it’s likely the court did not see sufficient immediate danger or evidence to support his claims. Courts are reluctant to intervene where parent’s rights are concerned, especially in a matter of preventing a mother from flying or maintaining custody.

For now, Bailey still retains custody of their child and no restrictions on her movement or parenting are imposed on her by the court. Her restraining order remains in effect while DDG’s attempt to have it overturned has failed.

Bailey’s Camp Reports She Attempted to Arrange for Supervised Visits but DDG Refused to Cooperate

Behind the scenes, Bailey’s camp insists she has been trying to do things by the book. Friends who are close to the singer say she called a number of times to schedule supervised visits to allow DDG to see his son in a safe setting. That would be in compliance with the current restraining order. But from her side, he never responded through the proper channels.

If that’s true, it could be why the court decided in favor of Bailey. Judges are looking for good-faith efforts where this is concerned and if one parent isn’t showing up or cooperating in the legal system, it can backfire on them.

Online Reactions Are Explosive as Fans Choose Sides in the Legal Drama

As one might expect, social media is in complete chaos. Both groups of fans from both DDG and Halle Bailey have used Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to defend their star and disrespect the other. Some are blaming DDG for trying to scam the legal system. Others believe that Bailey is using the courts as a means of restricting him from seeing his son.

Wherever people are, this is one thing for sure. It’s not just a celebrity breakup. It is now a celebrity court fight with a child caught in the middle.

What Happens Next: Court Hearings, Custody Decisions, and Ongoing Investigations

Still to be resolved is much. Future action includes a hearing to determine whether Bailey’s temporary restraining order may become permanent. Plans for Halo’s custody will also be reviewed in court and both will likely need to provide further documentation, evidence, or testimony.

Until then, all remains tense. Bailey is currently under protection of the restraining order. DDG has no legal right to custody at this time and the courts will ultimately determine how both parents proceed.

The wish, at least for their son, is that something gets settled soon. But with the climate being so harsh right now, that could be a long time off.

This is a developing story.
