BITF INVESTOR ALERT: Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman LLC Announces that Bitfarms Ltd. Investors with Substantial Losses Have Opportunity to Lead Class Action Lawsuit

A Los Angeles judge has granted a restraining order to actor and singer Halle Bailey, who alleges that her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG, has been repeatedly violent towards her, prompting fears for her safety and that of their 17-month-old son, Halo.

The judge issued the order on Tuesday, requiring DDG—whose legal name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.—to stay away from Bailey and their child until a court hearing scheduled for 6 June.

“Throughout our relationship,” Bailey stated in court documents, “Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”

Bailey, 25, and Granberry, 27, were in a relationship from 2022 until their separation last year. She alleged in her filing that there have been “multiple acts of physical violence” since the breakup.

One such incident, described in detail, reportedly occurred in January. Bailey claimed that Granberry repeatedly called her a “bitch” as she attempted to strap their baby into a car seat. “The next thing I knew, things got physical between us,” she wrote. “We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain.”

Bailey included photos of her chipped tooth and bruises on her arms in her legal filing.

In another alleged incident in March, Bailey claimed Granberry entered her home while she was away and sent her a photo of her bed along with a threatening message implying she was involved with other men. A few days later, she said, he became angry when she refused to allow their sick child to visit him. He allegedly smashed the Ring camera on her porch upon realising it was recording. When she contacted a relative for help, Bailey said Granberry took her phone and slammed the car door on her while she was holding the baby. She stated that she filed a police report following the confrontation.

Bailey also requested that Granberry be ordered to stop using his Twitch and YouTube platforms to incite his followers against her. “Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad mouthing me to his several millions of fans,” she said. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”

The judge also barred Granberry from possessing any weapons. The restraining order may be extended for up to five years at the upcoming June hearing.

DDG, originally from Pontiac, Michigan, rose to prominence through video streaming before becoming a hip-hop artist. His fourth studio album, Blame the Chat, was released on 5 May under Epic Records.

Bailey, an Atlanta native, has received five Grammy nominations both as a solo artist and as part of Chloe x Halle, the music duo she formed with her sister. She starred in the television series Grown-ish from 2018 to 2022 and played the lead role in Disney’s 2023 live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
