Advocates urge Mainers to remember the 9 kids still missing

The Trump administration says Columbia University failed to protect Jewish students from antisemitism, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Federal investigators found the school violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act by ignoring harassment tied to students’ actual or perceived Jewish or Israeli identity. The announcement follows an earlier decision to revoke Harvard’s ability to enroll international students, signaling a broader campaign targeting elite universities.

Columbia, already facing steep federal cuts, denies wrongdoing and says it is in talks with the government. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have roiled the campus since last spring, with critics accusing the school of failing both Jewish students and academic freedom.
