Disney star Halle Bailey was recently granted a restraining order against her popular YouTuber ex-boyfriend.
A Los Angeles judge granted “The Little Mermaid” actress a temporary restraining order against her streamer and rapper ex-boyfriend DDG on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
Bailey claimed DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., had been repeatedly violent with her and she that fears for her safety, as well as the safety of their toddler son.
“Throughout our relationship, Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me,” Bailey’s restraining order request documents read, per the report. “I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”
The judge ordered DDG, 27, to stay away from Bailey, 25, and their 17-month-old son Halo until a June 6 hearing. Bailey also asked that DDG be ordered to stop using his large YouTube and Twitch following to turn viewers against her.
Bailey and DDG dated from 2022 until 2024 and she claims “multiple acts of physical violence” have occurred since the breakup.
“The Color Purple” actress recounted a January incident in which DDG repeatedly called her a “b—-” as she tried to strap Halo into a carseat leading to a physical altercation between the two. She said DDG pulled her hair and slammed her face against a steering wheel, causing her to chip her tooth.
Bailey presented photos of her chipped tooth and bruises along her arms in the court filing.
She also described an occurrence in March where DDG entered her home while she wasn’t there and sent her threatening messages suggesting she was having relations with other men. Bailey said a few days later, he grew angry when she didn’t want to send their sick child on a visit with him and he smashed a Ring camera on her porch. She filed a police report over the situation.
DDG has yet to comment on the situation publicly.
The famous YouTuber and rapper began streaming in 2014 and has since amassed a huge following across multiple platforms. He released his fourth studio album, “Blame the Chat,” on May 5.
Bailey is best know for her role as Ariel in the 2023 live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.” She also starred in “Grown-ish” and “The Color Purple.”
The Atlanta native has also been nominated for five Grammy Awards both as a solo artist and as part of the duo, Chloe x Halle, with her sister Chloe Bailey.
