Bankruptcy court judge gives victim-survivors temporary window to file civil suits – Catholic Review

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Wilson Automotive data breach.

As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.

Several auto dealerships operated byWilson Automotive, which has locationsin California, Arizona, Nevada and Mexico, have reported a data breach that may have compromised personal information. Unusual network activity was discovered on August 30, 2024, prompting an investigation with the help of third-party specialists. It was determined that an unauthorized party had accessed the dealerships’ network between August 21 and August 30, 2024.

Right Toyota in Scottsdale, Arizona; Weir Canyon Honda in Anaheim, California; and Gardena Honda in Gardena, California have each reported the Wilson Automotive data breach to state attorneys general and indicated that they would be sendingpersonalized notices to affected individuals with more information about the incident, including which types of information may have been exposed. A sample of these notices can be seen below.
