
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Bakersfield resident was among those arrested after a multi-agency investigation into an alleged drug trafficking with counterfeit pills in Modesto.
The Modesto Police Department said investigators from the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted a joint investigation into multiple people allegedly involved in trafficking counterfeit Oxycodone pills across Stanislaus County.
Police said in a social media post, “These pills are often made to look like legitimate prescription medication but are illegally manufactured and laced with fentanyl, a highly potent and deadly synthetic opioid.”
Police said on May 29, 2025, investigators executed multiple search warrants throughout the city of Modesto. Arrest warrants were obtained for those identified as responsible, with the total bail amount set at $7,000,000, according to police.
As a result of this operation, investigators arrested four people and seized more than 10 pounds of M30 fentanyl pills along with over 11 pounds of precursor chemical powder used in their illicit production.
One of the suspects was taken into custody in Bakersfield and will be taken back to Stanislaus County to face prosecution.
The people were arrested for possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell, criminal conspiracy, operating a drug house, possession of marijuana for sale, and other enhancements related to large-scale drug trafficking.
Those arrested were:
Fernando Sanchez Galindo, 39, of Modesto, for possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell, criminal conspiracy, enhancements related to large-scale drug trafficking.
Arturo Garcia, 46, of Modesto, for possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell, criminal conspiracy, enhancements related to large-scale drug trafficking.
Randon Foreman, 31, of Modesto, for possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell, criminal conspiracy
Oliver Lopez, 38, of Bakersfield, for possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell, criminal conspiracy, operating a drug house, possession of marijuana for sale, enhancements related to large-scale drug trafficking.
