Allegheny Metallurgical emerges from bankruptcy, hiring soon

BARBOUR COUNTY, W.Va (WDTV) – Allegheny Metallurgical is back in business, as they’ve successfully come out of chapter 11 bankruptcy this month.

The company will re-enter the market with reorganized leadership and the company says a “renewed focus on maintaining and expanding operations”.

In a press release, company officials say the next steps will include the installation of longwall mining equipment and bringing operations online.

Allegheny Metallurgical will be holding a two-day job fair on July 25th and 26th at the Bridgeport Conference Center for open positions, the company says they will employ more than 500 people once they are fully operational.

Allegheny Metallurgical is based in Volga, Barbour county.
