UPDATE: The City of Chattanooga has sent letters to the 886 people impacted by the Nationwide Recovery Services’ (NRS) data breach.

NRS said in an email that the letter details which information was exposed and lists how they can register to receive complimentary identity protection provided by the city.

On Tuesday, April 22, the Chattanooga City Council rescinded the contract renewal with NRS. Mayor Kelly’s office says they are working to procure a new debt collection services provider.

Additionally, the Office of the City Attorney is exploring legal action to hold NRS accountable for failing to fulfill their contractual obligation to notify and provide services to those affected.
