Police looking for suspect in attempted murder, home invasion

OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — Police in Gaylord are searching for a man accused of attempted murder and home invasion.

Police were called to the Timberly Motel on Otsego Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 34-year-old Gaylord man suffering from injuries consistent with an attack by an edged weapon.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

A suspect has been identified as Darryl Damien Fisher-Stubbs, 36.

The preliminary investigation indicates the assault stemmed from an altercation between two people who knew each other, and police say Fisher-Stubbs is considered dangerous and may still be armed.

The Gaylord Police Department is actively searching for the suspect and urges the public to exercise extreme caution.

Police caution people to not approach the suspect. If you see the suspect, please call 911 immediately.
