Five plead guilty to laundering $36 million stolen in investment scams

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) A Laurel County man is facing serious charges after deputies say they uncovered a large stash of drugs, weapons, and cash during a search of his home.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Chester Couch was arrested last Thursday at a residence on Typo Road in Bonnyman.

Deputies say the search turned up more than 2,000 prescription pills, suspected methamphetamine, about 120 firearms, and a significant amount of cash.

The arrest followed an undercover drug investigation that began last year, officials said.

Couch is now charged with drug trafficking and other related offenses.
