Youtuber DDG has been granted a temporary restraining order against his ex Halle Bailey with an upcoming hearing scheduled for Tuesday, June 24.

The 27-year-old has accused Halle of physically and verbally abusing him, among other alleged incidents involving a firearm. Amid a custody battle over their 17-month-old child, the rapper asked the court to deny Halle’s recent request to take their son to Italy for work, saying his ex posed “an imminent emotional and psychological risk” to herself and their child.

Daryl Dwayne Granberry, aka DDG, alleged in court documents that Halle “routinely used emotional coercion and manipulation to exert her control over me, often threatening me by using self-harm or ending her life” throughout their “on again/off again” relationship of around three years.

In a statement to The Mirror US, DDG’s lawyer said, “We are aware of inaccurate media reports suggesting that Mr. Granberry was denied a restraining order against Ms. Halle Bailey. This is categorically false. The Court granted Mr. Granberry a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) based on the serious allegations set forth in his application.

“The issuance of this order reflects the Court’s finding that there is sufficient cause to provide immediate legal protection while the matter proceeds. At this time, custody-related issues remain pending and are subject to a full evidentiary hearing, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their claims and defenses.

“These are highly sensitive matters involving a minor child, and Mr. Granberry remains committed to resolving them through the appropriate legal channels, not the court of public opinion.

“We respectfully request that media outlets correct their reporting and refrain from spreading misinformation that can harm the legal process and the well-being of the parties involved,” they added.

A representative for Halle declined to comment when contacted by The Mirror US.

In legal documentation seen by The Mirror US, DDG alleged that the 25-year-old actor singer “threatened” him “by demanding that we reconcile, or she would go through with the abortion.” DDG said the actress allegedly “threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm”, taking the weapon and leaving their home without telling anyone her whereabouts in another instance.

“Given these threats to self-harm,” DDG wrote in his filing, “I believe the Petitioner is a threat to our son’s safety, such that she should not be allowed to take Halo out of the country to Italy for a period of two months.”

He requested that the court grant him sole legal and physical custody of Halo, or impose an alternative visitation plan where he and Halle trade off two-day and five-day blocks.

It comes weeks after Halle filed to obtain sole legal and physical custody of Halo, alleging that DDG attacked her during co-parenting handover at the beginning of the year. She was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, who has denied the abuse allegations.

In a court response to DDG’s filing obtained by TMZHalle accused DDG of being uncooperative in negotiations, alleging that he waited until her temporary restraining order was expired to file for custody of Halo.

In November, she hit out at DDG after he allowed Halo to appear in a livestream. “Hi everyone. Just so you know I am out of town and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight.”She wrote on X in a deleted post “I wasn’t told or notified and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.”
