Tobacco tax evasion faces HK$2 million fine and 7-year jail, e-cigarette ban starts 30th April 2026

WAYNE COUNTY, MICH.Wayne State University is facing accusations of civil rights violations after the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Michigan) filed a complaint.

The complaint alleges a pattern of racial and religious profiling against Muslim and Arab students by WSU police.

This development follows a wave of protests on campus related to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The complaint claims that police used unlawful force and demanded immigration documents from students during these incidents.

Wayne State University issued a response to the allegations.

“We believe any allegations of a broad pattern of misconduct are without merit.

We meet regularly with student, faculty, and community groups to discuss both successes and concerns.

We take all allegations seriously and follow a well-established standard procedure to evaluate and investigate.

We also regularly share resources and information about reporting concerns through the Dean of Students Office and the Office of Equal Opportunity.”
